Elizabeth is Manager of Strategic Development at RSF Social Finance, a nonprofit financial institution inspired by the work of Rudolf Steiner. Elizabeth is committed to demystifying the intersection between capital markets, finance and sustainable food systems; her role at RSF includes helping individual and institutional investors and funders navigate the myriad and newly emerging ways in which they can support this field. She recently prepared a report supporting the Rockefeller Impact Investing Collaborative's efforts to invest in sustainable agriculture. Prior to joining RSF, Elizabeth worked for two years as Program Officer of Slow Money (then a project of Investor's Circle), synthesizing the experiences of sustainable food entrepreneurs, angel investors, venture capital funds and other investors to inform the development of a new financing vehicle that would better serve mission-oriented food ventures. On staff at the Business Alliance for Local Living Economies (BALLE), she helped catalyze, strengthen and connect local living economies with a particular focus on sustainable food systems and community capital. Elizabeth serves on the board of the Alliance for Local Sustainable Agriculture and is an advisor to New Spirit Ventures, an organization that connects investors with farmers to preserve farmland and expand sustainable farming and ranching operations. She is also a member of the Roots of Change Business Leaders Council. Elizabeth has held professional positions as varied as farmer, wildlife technician, statistician, hydrologist, prep cook and publisher since graduating from school. She is passionate about the outdoors, journaling, creative cooking, music and actively participating in the community life of small-town Bolinas, where she lives.
